Fourth of July Flip Flops.  Nutter Butter cookies dipped in white or dark blue candy melts and decorated with fruit roll ups, Rip Whips, and sprinkles.  I cut red fruit roll ups into strips and wrapped them around the white dipped Nutter Butter.  I attached the Rip Whips and star sprinkles with candy melts.  For the blue flip flops I simply attached the Rips Whips and star sprinkles with candy melts also.

4th of July - 2011

My husband's favorite holiday is the 4th of July.  He loves fireworks.  To be honest, he is a bit of a pyromaniac.  Some neighbors actually leave town on the 4th and put hoses out in their front yards in case of fire.  No kidding, they really do.  Others want a front row seat and set up chairs in the street.  But the smart ones watch safely huddled inside their homes.   I secretly pray for incorporation of our neighborhood so that fireworks are banned.  What started out as a family party has evolved over the years into a full blown event.  I have cousins who will drive all the way up from San Jose, California for his show.

Fun festive table on a dime - the budget was literally blown...on fireworks.

Cute 4th of July cupcakes

Baskets full of cherries

Lemonade in canning jars

Hot dogs!

Individual apple pies - can't get any more American than that right?

I found these great stars & stripes pinwheel fans 2 for $1 at Dollar Tree.

The tall blue vases were only $1 at Walmart - I attached the pinwheels to sturdy plastic red, white and blue straws from Dollar Tree and they made perfect affordable table decorations with a big impact!

Patriotic Tablescape

This tablescape can be used for the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day or any patriotic holiday celebration.  I started with a simple white tablecloth with a red table runner.  I lined silver star cut-outs from Party city down the middle and topped them with more blue glass vases with flags.

I folded the napkins in a cute pinwheel shape

Have a safe and happy 4th!
