4th of July
Uncle Sam wants YOU! ...to make his cute little hats. Just grab some Jet-Puffed marshmallows, Ritz crackers and fruit roll ups. Mmmmm, stars and stripes never tasted so good, love the combo of sweet and salty! For a full tutorial, click here.
These yummy rockets are made from Jet-Puffed marshmallows dipped halfway in red and blue candy melts. Allow to dry on parchment paper and attach jumbo star sprinkles in the center using a toothpick dipped in candy melts. Rip Whips are added at the end using candy melts as "glue". Skewer the marshmallows and add a meringue cookie on top! Kapow!
White chocolate dipped Oreos with marshmallow ears and candy melts for the face. Noses are star sprinkles. Decorate with blue and red colored sugar spinkles and edible markers! Perfect to take along for a Memorial Day picnic or the 4th of July!
So...I'm eating some French Vanilla Pepperidge Farm Piroutte cookies and I think to myself - "Hey! Firecrackers!"
These cute cherries are so easy to make! Simply dip the cherries into melted white chocolate and then into blue sprinkles!
4th of July - 2011
My husband's favorite holiday is the 4th of July. He loves fireworks. To be honest, he is a bit of a pyromaniac. Some neighbors actually leave town on the 4th and put hoses out in their front yards in case of fire. No kidding, they really do. Others want a front row seat and set up chairs in the street. But the smart ones watch safely huddled inside their homes. I secretly pray for incorporation of our neighborhood so that fireworks are banned. What started out as a family party has evolved over the years into a full blown event. I have cousins who will drive all the way up from San Jose, California for his show.
Fun festive table on a dime - the budget was literally blown...on fireworks.
Cute 4th of July cupcakes
Baskets full of cherries
Lemonade in canning jars
Individual apple pies - can't get any more American than that right?
I found these great stars & stripes pinwheel fans 2 for $1 at Dollar Tree.
The tall blue vases were only $1 at Walmart - I attached the pinwheels to sturdy plastic red, white and blue straws from Dollar Tree and they made perfect affordable table decorations with a big impact!
I folded the napkins in a cute pinwheel shape
Have a safe and happy 4th!
